These frames were created with Marcello Meneses and Maria Ray as part of a group project for a motion media design event called Battle of the Boards; a 48 hour design competition where students are grouped together to create design boards for a secret project brief given at the start of the competition. This year's brief was to create a design board for Dropbox Paper, a new social platform geared towards the artistic process and co-creation. The groups were required to create at least six style frames for a 30 second animation spot, and two 10 second social animation style frames (1 frame for each idea). The groups were allowed to create more than what was required, including animation tests and a detailed process book.
Marcello, Maria and I decided to go a tactile route, and we enjoyed our full process. We wanted to show the creation of an idea through Dropbox Paper. Below are the finished style frames for the 30 second animation, and two motion tests for our social animation spots (think Instagram). Following the frames is our process book that further details our concept.
